![]() ![]() In what section are you referring to when I mention Maladie's abilites? Sorry, just a lot in there hahaha! Changing it because people discovered it isn't what it's about and would make the reveal feel cheaper and unearned." I tend to agree with that. Speaking of Game of Thrones, George RR Martin, when people found out about Jon Snow and his history based off hints in the books he was asked if he was going to "change" the answer or if that influences the way he continues to write the story and he said "No, if you can figure it out but also have to kind of work and look between things to figure it out that means its a good twist. One that is carefully constructed and placed (things like The Sixth Sense, Saw, Seven, Steven Universe etc) and ones that come out of nowhere that you couldn't ever possibly figure out because there are no hints (Little Finger's moment with Arya and Sansa for example in Game of Thrones). On that note: there are two types of reveals. When people go back and binge it or discover the show and don't check in with the boards after every episode it will be an excellent reveal. I do think that the people that "weren't surprised" is just a matter of sitting with the episode for 7 days before this one and everyone discussing Amy Mason playing both characters. It was also surprising to see that Maladie can "hide" her insanity and almost choose to fall into it. So yes, I was surprised because it worked much cleaner than I expected and I didn't have all the pieces of the puzzle. So I went from hoping the reveal wasn't going to be treated like a "surprise" to trying to figure out the logistics of it, to thinking she did hang herself and was just going to survive, to then being surprised when they went back to the murder scene from Episode 1 and realizing how easily that moment was overlooked even though it was given so much time in the first couple of moments of the show, especially introducing us to Frank's character. I also entertained the notion that Maladie could "teleport" in a sense and wanted to be captured to maybe teleport away or something. Similar to that episode of Buffy when Xander is hit by the wand and it splits his personality into two bodies: one getting the positive traits and one getting the negative. So I was wondering if Maladie was "split" in two. I was also thrown off by Maladie stating "she was in the box" at Mary's funeral and I was confused at the logistics of how that worked like when she got out of the box (don't they pretty much immediately start burying the body and usually people are around?), got into it, or what have you. ![]() I knew something was off about how easily Maladie was captured and just didn't know if it was a lazy mistake to get Maladie where she needed to be for the scripts sake, or if there was something more behind it. ![]() So, I knew the actress was the same since I do those deep-dives every week (shameless plug for the new one: ) but I was still trying to question how exactly it all worked up until the shoe reveal.
